It's safe to say, this summer's a hot one. With a never-ending heatwave in the UK, we could all do with cooling off. So, what better way to beat the heat than by sipping on delicious cocktails, but with a hot-weather twist - they're all frozen. We've got three simple, easy and incredibly tasty recipes for you to enjoy and share with your friends this summer. Though don’t blame us if they want you to host every cocktail night!
Frozen Aperol Spritz
The only thing better than a classic Aperol Spritz? A frozen one. After trying them on our recent trip to Ibiza, we knew we had to share the love and add it to this list.
For two servings
You'll need:
- 3 oz Aperol
- 1 oz Orange juice (fresh if you're feeling fancy)
- 8 oz Prosecco
- 2 1/2 Cups of ice
Instructions:
- Add all ingredients into a blender, and blend until you get a slushy consistency.
- Divide your cocktail between two glasses and add an orange slice for garnish.
- Tadaa! Done.
Frozen Margarita
It wouldn't be a cocktail list without a frozen Margarita. The tartness of the Margarita is perfect for a hot summer day, and the ice will help you to stay cool (even in a UK heatwave!)
For two servings
You'll need:
- 4 oz Silver Tequila
- 2 oz Triple Sec
- 1 oz Simple syrup
- 220ml Fresh lime juice
- 3 Cups of ice
- Lime and salt to garnish
Instructions:
- First, rim your two glasses with a lime wedge, then dip in salt for that classic Margarita rim.
- Next, add everything to a blender, and blend until you have a smooth, slushy consistency.
- Divide between the glasses and enjoy!
Sorbet Spritz
Okay, so technically, not frozen, BUT we think the scoops of sorbet make it count. The Sorbet Spritz is cute, classy and an easy, guaranteed party-pleaser. Shoutout to @join_jules for putting this one on our radars, as we'll be drinking it all summer long.
For two servings
You'll need:
- 4 scoops of raspberry sorbet
- 4 scoops of lemon sorbet
- 4 oz citrus vodka
- Sparkling water
- Prosecco
- Slice of lemon (for the fancy garnish, of course)
Instructions:
- Get yourself two large glasses (we like white wine glasses) and add two scoops of each flavour sorbet to each one.
- Pour in the Prosecco until the glass is half full.
- Divided between the glasses, add the citrus vodka (so 2 oz per glass).
- Top with sparkling water, garnish with lemon slices and give it a stir.
- That's it! We told you it was simple.
